Desiree De Spong - Founder, Clinical Director.
Desiree De Spong is in her second decade of working in holistic medicine and education. Originally coming from a background in finance/training and IT, Desiree changed her direction in 1999 to broaden her knowledge, before settling into the area of lymphology. Completing her studies in Adult Teaching, Desiree developed classes in Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy and has been teaching in New Zealand, Australia and the United States since 2009.
Desiree extended her role in the health field, and became involved in research and development. Desiree was awarded a research fellowship with Flinders University in Adelaide, and completed a trial alongside Professor Neil Pillar. The trial into the benefits of the mild frequency vibration that patients clinically diagnosed with arm lymphoedema, secondary to breast cancer surgery in November 2010. In 2018, Desiree also received a grant with ethics approval, to study the effects of vibrational technology on arthritis.
Desiree is passionate about creating a partnership between holistic practices and traditional medical practices. Over the last two years Desiree became involved in the design and development of FLOWpresso, which has the capability to form this beneficial relationship.
Steve Canning - Supply Chain Director.
Steve comes from 28 years of service to the New Zealand Police, which included working in the Scene on Crime Section and Forensic Photography. This background has provided personal knowledge and experience about the stressors and mental strain of high intensity work environments. Steve has now retired from the NZ Police to take the role of Director of Medella Health Ltd. Steve saw the potential and importance of this technology so he chose to invest his Superannuation from the NZ Police, into something that had meaning and would make a difference in people’s lives.
Partnering up with Desiree, Steve provided the backing and support for her to take the idea of FLOWpresso and make it a reality. Steve is also responsible for the company’s supply chain operations, which includes purchasing and managing the inventory of materials, selection of vendors, quality control, and distribution of finished goods.
Mike Stobbs - Sales and Marketing Manager.
With over 30 years’ experience leading teams and organisations in the technology, consultancy and innovation sectors, Mike has spent much of his career working at the leading edge of both corporate and consumer solutions.
Mike believes deeply in FLOWpresso's purpose, with particular interest in the outcomes of sports recovery and improved mental health.
Mike has held a number of executive and governance roles, as well as directly providing advisory and implementation expertise from sales and marketing to multi-sector digital transformation initiatives.
