The FLOWpresso™ therapies

FLOWpresso™ delivers compression, far infrared heat and deep pressure simultaneously to encourage the body’s inner systems to activate. For more information on how the therapies work and their benefits, read on.

How compression therapy works.

Compression technology was first introduced to medicine to treat different circulatory conditions, such as lymphedema, post-surgery swelling and DVT.

About 25 years ago, compression was adopted for use in sport in an attempt to improve exercise performance and recovery.  More recently it is being recognized to assist in health and sport recovery.

Compression allows the body to change the way it moves and feels like there are many hands working on you at once. It can stimulate the body to release the toxins from your system. FLOWpresso delivers a stimulation, through cyclic compression, to different areas of the body.  Each chamber inflates sequentially, before its predecessor completely deflates, to ensure a selective progressive pressure. These chambers can be programmed individually to ensure the optimal experience.

How far infrared therapy works.

Far infrared light is energy from the sun, with properties to help with a various amount of health issues.

Most people have heard of Saunas which use far infrared heat. Far infrared heat stands out from any other, as it penetrates through the skin and the insulating layer of fat - two to three inches into the body - producing a warming effect from the inside out.

Far infrared light is energy from the sun, with properties to help with a variety of health issues. The 'warm' energy present in all beings can be linked back to Far Infrared Rays (FIR). When the intensity of the FIR begins to decline, your body becomes more susceptible to environmental hazards, physical diseases and aging. A growing body of evidence supports the use of far infrared as a non-invasive means for promoting a general state of health.  With ties as far back as 1989, where researchers discovered evidence that when far infrared was applied to local areas or to the entire body it had a sleep-promoting effect on people.

Per the positive research associated with far infrared heat, it became an essential component to FLOWpresso.  FLOWpresso applies far infrared heat to each of the four sections of the garment to encourage a relaxing, sleep-promoting effect along with encouraging an improved state of health.  The far infrared heat embraces the body with a gentle, healing warmth. Allowing the body to rest, and relax, in such a way that helps restore balance.

How deep pressure therapy works.

Deep pressure stimulation is generally referred to as a form of tactile sensory input, which is provided by holding, stroking, hugging, swaddling, and squeezing.

The technique of Deep Pressure Therapy is often used to calm anxious people - improving their coping ability and adaptation, giving their brain a better sense of where their body is to the outer world.

A light touch is often perceived as alerting and even agitating to some people, while deep pressure touch is typically calming and organizing to the senses. Applying deep pressure to the body helps create a deeply relaxing effect allowing the body to calm and release the daily stress of life. FLOWpresso™ applies deep pressure to the body - similar to a hug -  through each individual chamber, serving a profoundly relaxing effect, allowing the body to calm and release the daily stress of life.

These three therapies working together gives you the FLOW experience. The physical effects it has on the body allows your mind to be challenged to change. It stands up to what you might class as a ‘normal’ state, and questions it.
